We swallowed our “technology pride” and replaced “The Cyrano Marketing System” with… any smart phone! Your reps can either press a link on their phone or call a dedicated voicemail and dictate specific follow-up instructions without ever having to stop and log-in to another system ever again.
Once the information is received, Cyrano updates notes, marks reminders as complete, updates the dashboard and notifies their managers (in a weekly report via email) that the rep is doing his/her job. More importantly, Cyrano either continues the relationship-nurturing cycle of touches (for the rep) or shifts to a different marketing campaign if the relationship changes.
Salespeople are notorious for suffering from “The Gap of Good Intentions”.
They really do mean well when you ask them to adopt new habits. They start strong, but they finish… well, you’ve experienced this first-hand, haven’t you?
